Breaking up is Hard to Do

Breaking up with Soda is hard to do, anyway. Diet soda. Specifically, Coke Zero. I’m hooked, and have been for years. Yes, it’s zero calories, but it’s full of a host of other crap that is bad for you and artificial sweeteners make you crave more sugar. Super annoying. I’ve used it as a diet crutch for quite some time, and I needed to get off of it. And I made the decision to cut all artificial sweeteners AND sugar from my diet, except for honey and the 1 tsp of organic all natural agave I put in my coffee each morning.

People say to just drink water. But water gets boring. Sometimes we need flavor!! So here are my substitutes so far. I’ve been drinking sparking water, unsweetened iced tea, coffee, and infused water. Now all of these are certainly an acquired taste, but I think I’m on my way! There are a million sparkling water brands, but I think LaCroix is probably the most infamous and most accessible. Their passionfruit and grapefruit are my favorite!! Hint water is also awesome. You can make your own infused water, but theirs travels way better. Both of these photo creds goes to their respective websites.
